#81 For the love of music.

A.)

B.)
C.)
D.)
E.)

The person in picture A wrote and sang a song which inspired a song each from B and C (shown above),respectively. The name of a magazine was also inspired from A's song and one of the editors of the magazine(mentioned above) wrote a book in criticism of the lists published in the magazine.Picture D shows the cover of the book(the name of the writer(s)/editor(s) has been hidden if you notice). Picture E shows an unofficial member of a very famous band whose name (the band's name) was also inspired from A's song.
Who is A,B,C and E? Which magazine are we talking about ? Which song made this question possible?

Answer: McKinley Morganfield(picture A), known as Muddy Waters, wrote and sang the song named "Rollin' stone" which influenced Bob Dylan's(picture B) "Like a Rolling Stone", as well as Jimi Hendrix's (picture C)"Voodoo Chile" and "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)".The magazine Rolling Stone was named after the 1948 Muddy Waters song of the same name.
A rock critic Jim DeRogatis, a former Rolling Stone editor, published a thorough critique of the magazine's lists in a book called Kill Your Idols: A New Generation of Rock Writers Reconsiders the Classics (picture D). Darryl Jones (picture E) is the unofficial member of the very famous band The Rolling Stone who got their name from Muddy Water's song.
