#196 Twice bitten but still survived.


The person in the first picture made a remark about a MAN involved in two very tragic incidents. The items shown in second picture played major role in those tragic incidents. the person in the third picture had to apologise for the remark made on the MAN.

Identify the pictures,the controversy and the MAN.

pic2-enola gay and bockscar-us army bombers which dropped the nuclear bombs during world war...being the 2 tragic events...

man is Tsutomu Yamaguchi, who survived both atomic bombings of Japan, whom Fry termed "the unluckiest man in the world"...

insulted a hibakusha, person who survived both hiroshima & nagasaki
Tsutomu Yamaguchi is the guy, died at 93
they made a joke about him stating that the bomb bounced off him or something

The controversy was that Stephen Fry (1) in Quiz show Ql described Tsutomu Yamaguchi, the survivor of both nuclear bombarding instances in Japan (2 &3) as 'the unluckiest man on earth'.
This caused considerable criticism in Japan, then BBC chief Mark Thompson making a public apology.
