#128: speed is relative...

A was developed to dethrone B as the fastest X. B was named after Y which was the fastest airplane then. Identify A, B and Y.

Answer:

(A)suzuki hayabusa (japanese for peregrine falcon) which was aptly named because it ate the (B)honda blackird for dinner, when it came to being the fastest production motorbike.

the honda blackbird had been named after theSR-71 blackbird by lockheed martin.

A= Suzuki Hayabusa , where Hayabusa is the Japanese word for the Peregrine Falcon (shown in the picture above).

B= Honda CBR1100XX also known as the Super Blackbird(shown in the picture above).

Y= Lockheed SR-71.
The name "Blackbird" is a nod to the Lockheed SR-71 aircraft, once the world's fastest aircraft.

Very smartly you have included an X but never asked of it. I think X here, is used for the Superbikes/Sportbikes.
